iPhone 5 on its way?
Rumors are all over the web right now about the suspected new Apple Phone called iPhone 5. It is still a question if this is a reaction to take all the antenna problems of iPhone 4 and erase it on the memory of everybody. Will it be a lot faster and will this 5G technology be a lot better? Will it even go to Verizon US? Let us break down the rumors and go straight to the core and find out if there is a strand of truth regarding this iPhone 5 hype.
The summer release of iPhone 5
Most Apple Phone releases are done by June or July and it is pretty safe to say that the said phone will be released in June or July.
Early release
Well, January 2011 has already passed and there are no iPhone 5. It would not have been possible anyway to make such rushed release. It is very much possible that Apple will push through with their standard release dates which are during the summer. In some rumors, it was said that the release can be a bit later to September since the manufacturers are still adjusting with additional changes.
Is iPhone 5 a different form from the iPhone 4? Will there be an iPhone 4GS? It was said by Wall Street Journal that the 5th generation will have a different form factor. It is very much possible that a separate iPhone 4 is on the works to address improvements but iPhone 5 might be a completely different league from the past iPhone offerings from the company. According to reputable sources, Apple is thinking or creating a totally new design and reinvigorate it with new features and value. With the trend on iPhone 3G, it is possible that the iPhone 4 will have an iPhone 4S or 4GS in the making.
The news on a smaller and cheaper iPhone5
This will be named the iPhone Nano and it was said that the prototype is already existing. It was designed to be in direct competition to the cheaper Android handsets. The rumor was fired up by Wall Street Journal early in February in which they stated that this smaller iPhone version does exist and it might be ready for sale by the end of the year. However, it was also said by another source that it is very unlikely that a smaller version is on the works and the size will not vary.
Edge to Edge?
Based on the image from a Chinese Reseller, if you will take this as a fact, then the new iPhone 5 handset will cover edge to edge display feature but it is still questionable if it is a legit Apple part.
Going White?
It was reported that a white glass for iPhone is being shipped by Wintek, the supplier that solely creates the White iPhone touch panel for the said company.
New material for the back
The glass back will be booted out and instead, a metal back will be used that will also serve as the antenna of the iPhone 5.
Evolutionary specifications
New iPhone 5 will have iOS 4.3 and much like the new iPad 2 will have A5 chip. It was said that the iPhone 5 will move away from the Infeneon and will go for Qualcomm but aside from that, they will use the same suppliers for all other parts. It will be pretty much increased in memory, storage and processing power. It will probably carry a dial core 1.2GHz processor, it might have a bigger screen, 3.7″ (instead of current 3.5″) and it might even use a different alloy. Apple was rumored to be venturing to multi core processors to elevate the battery power of the device. It was also said that it is possible that the A5 procesor from the new iPad 2 will land on the iPhone 5.
