Apple iPhone 3GS Still Selling Well
According to Digitimes, Apple will ship 2 million iPhone 3GS devices by the end of the fourth quarter. In Q1 2012 Apple is expected to shift a further 1.5 million units proving that despite the arrival of the iPhone 4 and now iPhone 4S, the iPhone 3GS is still the second-best selling smartphone in the US, easily beating off the chasing pack of HTC Evos, Motorola Droid 3s, and even the impressive Samsung Galaxy SII.
In first place, of course, stands the iPhone 4, but Apple’s decision to offer the smartphone free of charge to AT&T customers has ensured its continued success since its launch in 2009. While not the top seller in Apple’s array of market-leading products, the iPhone 3GS is helping introduce the Apple experience to a wider audience. Overall Apple is forecast to sell 31 million iPhone devices overall this quarter.

Differences between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S
The latest version of the iPhone is the iPhone 4S which has some improvements compared to the previous model, the iPhone 4. At first glance, the aesthetics of the iPhone 4S do not differ significantly from the 4 model. However, there are new tasks that the iPhone 4S is able to accomplish. Additionally, previous features of the iPhone 4 have been improved upon in the iPhone 4S.
When designing the iPhone 4S, Apple made it better able to be used in foreign countries. The previous iPhone 4 had connectivity issues when using on networks abroad. The improvements to the iPhone 4S are such that if a particular country adheres to the GSM standard then the iPhone 4S will be able to connect to the network. For this to work, the subscriber needs to have international service as part of their phone plan.
Data transfers occur more efficiently and quickly with the iPhone 4S. In fact, many users are simply amazed at the increase. According to Apple, the maximum upload speed for the iPhone 4S is 5.8 Mbps. The reported maximum download speed is even more impressive at 14.4 Mbps. Those who currently own the iPhone 4 know that these speeds are twice that of what the iPhone 4 is able to do. For those users who upload and download a lot of data, the iPhone 4S would definitely be worthy to upgrade to.
Despite some battery glitches that have been recently repaired by Apple, the life of the battery found in the iPhone 4S is supposed to be much improved over the iPhone 4. According to tests, if the iPhone 4S is used on a 3G network, then the phone should offer the user an average of eight hours of talking. In comparison to the iPhone 4, this provides users with an additional hour of talk time.

Nielsen survey surprising results
Where do you use your iPhone? My iPhone is glued to my behind and I tent to use it everywhere I go, but look at these results of Nielsen surveys. Smartphones users (yeah not just iPhone users) use their gadgets 20 percent of the time while watching TV. Surprising is the fact that 61 percent of eReader owners use their device in bed, compared to just 51 percent of smartphone users. Well we know when to put it down and attend to our Honeys…
Ever wondered how and when other people use their iPhone? Nielsen released results of their extensive surveys yesterday. Here are some interesting results. 68 percent of smartphone users use their gadget while watching TV. I guess multi-tasking became the norm. 51 percent of smartphone owners would use it in bed.
Apple still climbing
Apple makes it the largest technology company on earth. With today’s stocks climbing to $325.00 on the NASDAQ stock market with total of market value of $298.27 billion. While other investors look at hot penny stocks, the money to be made is in Apple stock.
Apple has surpassed rival Microsoft and Petro China to trail only behind Exxon Mobil Corporation with exuberant $367.10 billion. Not to worry it’ll take that oil magnate soon enough.
