As an iPhone user, you know how expensive it can be to get all the apps you want. Even if you don’t feel the need to buy apps all the time, you may still want to find ways to save money, and your iPhone can help you do this very easily. All you need are the right apps to guide you. We have some money saving tips in past. The following are just a few of my favorite money saving apps.

1. GasBuddy

BillTracker

GasBuddy is really popular with those who want to save money. GasBuddy is a free app with which you are connected to other users who let you know where you can get gas for the best price in your area. You are also able to let others know about the prices you find, and these are all updated in real time.

2. Mint.com Personal Finance

Mint.com Personal Finance is a free app that will help you manage your money at any time. You can track, budget, and manage the money you have and look at your back accounts to know how much money you have. You can also put your purchases into categories and build a new budget to match your lifestyle. With the Mint.com app, you don’t have to worry about the information you include because you can apply a four digit pass code to open the app.

3. BillTracker

BillTracker

If you have had problems remembering to pay your bills in the past, BillTracker is the right app for you. You want to make sure you are making all of your payments on time to avoid late fees and poor credit, so you can use this app to track your car insurance, student loan, and utility payments in one place. You can also set a reminder so that you know when your next bill is coming up. Bill Tracker costs just $1.99.

4. Groupon

Groupon

The website behind this app has become very popular, and for a good reason. People are saving lots of money and finding new favorite stores, restaurants, and activities with this service. Groupon app is just an easier way for you to see the new Groupons in your area, and it’s free! Don’t forget to check out the Groupons in other locations when you go on vacation or visit friends and family. You can find great activities to fill your time, and you don’t have to spend a whole lot of money. Groupon is a free app.

5. Pushpins

The extreme couponing craze has become very popular. You may think that it takes too much time to clip all of the coupons necessary to save an extensive amount of money, but with pushpins, getting started is very easy. Go to the store and scan the item you want to buy. Then, if there is a coupon for that product available, they are automatically uploaded to your shopper card. You don’t have to pay anything for the app, and the money you save could be very useful. Pushpins - Coupons, Lists, & Nutrition is a free app.

6. Skype

With the free Skype app, you can save your precious phone minutes and texts and talk to the person you want to talk to face to face. See your family and friends without paying tons of money traveling to see them, and keep your phone bill low by limiting the phone minutes you use each month. Skype your Skype free iPhone app.

Save Money on your iPhone Bills

iphone costs

While there’s no denying that owning an iPhone is a great experience, there’s also no denying that it can also be an expensive one. Between fees for data, charges for text messaging, purchasing minutes and buying apps, the bill can be obscene if you’re not careful. There are a number of quick and easy ways to save money on your iPhone bill, though. We’ve outlined the best tips here.

1. Quit paying for text messaging

This is by far the easiest way to cut down your bill. A text messaging package for the iPhone can cost upward of $30 a month. Several apps available on the iTunes App Store allow you to text for free, allowing you to pocket that $30 instead of spending it. Google Voice is by far the most universal app, allowing you to text over 3G or WiFi with anybody on any carrier for free. Apple’s new iOS Messenger is also useful if the person you’re trying to text with has an iPhone as well.

2. Choose the data plan

Data for the iPhone comes in different increments depending on what carrier you use. You may spend as little as $15 or $20 a month, or you might spend over $50 a month. Take a look at how much data you use on 3G and pick a data package that’s appropriate to that. You can even reduce your data package and cut back on your usage by using WiFi as much as possible. By limiting the amount of data-using apps that you use while you’re not on WiFi, you’ll also reduce your data usage to a more cost-friendly level.

3. Save money on voice minutes

This goes hand in hand with choosing the best data plan. This one should go without saying, but it’s amazing how many people don’t have the best plan for their iPhone. Why pay for more minutes than you use? Take a look at your phone bill, and if you’re only using half of your minutes, then adjust your plan so that you buy less minutes. Just be careful if you choose to do this. You don’t want to reduce your plan and then end up going over your allotment, as that will cause you to spend more money than before.

4. Purchase an older iPhone

This one won’t give you a monthly savings, but it can save you money immediately. The new iPhone 4S starts at $199 on a 2-year contract, but the older iPhone 4 is only $99. The differences between the two are so minimal that most users don’t notice a difference. The even older iPhone 3GS is now free on a two-year contract. So, depending on whether you truly need the latest iPhone, you can save a couple hundred dollars from the beginning.

5. Use the cheapest SIM only cards

SIM only plan

SIM Only plans offer savings that contract providers just can’t match. SIM Only doesn’t require you to subscribe to a mobile provider, so you won’t find yourself paying too much for your phone bill if your needs change. With the cheapest SIM Only plans, you can just buy the cheapest SIM card with just enough minutes. You don’t pay for minutes that you don’t use, and you don’t lose money being tied to a particular carrier. What’s not to love?

Conclusion

As we said before, owning an iPhone can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. Follow these tips, and you’ll find yourself saving a considerable amount of money. Combine one or more, and you’re certain to spend less than your friends while still getting to own an iPhone.

Syncing multiple Apple devices with iTunes

2 February, 2011 Posted by As tips & tricks (0) Comment

There are many people out there who will have an iPhone, an iPod Touch and an iPad all together. Sometimes, it can be tricky as to how you manage the music videos and applications. Just recently, Apple released a tip as to sync all your Apple devices. For example, you wish to play only podcast over iPod Touch, games on iPad and other apps on iPhone. You can sync even several other similar Apple products to do what you wish to do with them or get the content and functionality you want from them. To do that, here are the steps you have to follow:

You will need your USB Dock Cable to connect your Apple products to iTunes. Now, once it has been linked, check and see if they are recognized on the program by checking the left side bar and clicking on a particular device. Go to the top menu of iTunes and select the media or application you wish to sync with that device. There is a capacity gauge that will show up so you know how much space is left on your Apple device. You can sync all or sync only one aspect. It is all your choice. Once you have done it, select another device and repeat the process.
